Film, video, still photography, web and audio are on a collision
course. Gone are the days of these worlds being mutually exclusive.  
Some of the most effective television spots on air right now are still
photos re-purposed with music, voice over and effective editing to make for
some very effective marketing. Film is being replaced or at least
complimented by 24p HD Video. Video and still photography are being
combined. And they are all being distributed through various media including
the web.

After quite a few years of hype, the web is finally emerging as an
effective and popular distrubuition method for traditional television
programing, entertainment and advertising. At the heart of all this is still
basically video editing. Creating montages of pictures and audio into an
effective storyline. Media Professional who learn this, or are at least
aware this can create a world of new opportunities using existing elements
and resources.
